Open the VBE (Visual Basic Editor)
The Alt-F11 key combination will open the VBE in Excel, Expression Web and Word.

Click on the Tools Menu and then click on References.

You will see several references near the top with a checkmark.

The Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility 5.3 reference has to be listed with with these available references.

If it is not, you need to scroll down the alphabetical listing and find it and place a check mark next to it.

Nothing here will work without the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility 5.3 reference.

Next click on the View Menu.  Make sure the Project Explorer,  Properties Window, Immediate Window and Watch Window are all chosen.

Make sure the 4 windows listed above are visible on your VBE desktop.

Leave the name of the module as  Module1.

You need to enable Trust access to the VBA Project Object Model.
This is located in different areas for each Office program.

In Excel 2007 and Word 2007, the location is:

Office Button Top left part of the Word or Excel screen.
Word Options or Excel Options Button Bottom of Office Button Window just left of the Exit Word or Exit Excel button.
Trust Center Button On the left side of the Word Options or Excel Options screen.
Trust Center Settings Button On the right side of the Trust Center  Window.
Macro Settings On the left side of the Trust Center Settings Window.

The Window in Word 2007 will look like the following:

Make sure the Trust access to the VBA project object model is checked at the bottom of this window.

You should also add a digital signature.  This digital signature link can lead you through the process.  It is free and fairly straight forward.

You may also have to click the Enable all macros temporarily button if you don't have a digital signature.

Once you get your digital signature setup, you can change it to Disable all macros except digitally signed macros.
